ACOPower Foldable Solar Panel-PV Suitcase Series is the most popular portable solar panel kit with Charge Controller for camping so far. The PV kit suitcases are also available 50W and 105W for you to choose. They are all designed as kit with a 10A charge controller (USB Output included), Alligator Clamps, and Removable MC4 Connectors. The foldable solar panel kit can work to charge both your vehicle's 12v battery (such for a car or boat) and power generator inverter. It is a must for camping!
-Charge the Solar Generator Inverter with adapter:
-Note: Please choose the proper solar panel for your generator.
70W Foldable Solar Panel has a higher voltage and current for some solar generators. The current is too high for ACOPower 150WH Solar Generator.
We recommend it to charge ACOPOWER 400wh and 220wh Solar Generator.
-Charge Batteries with 10A PWM Charge Controller:
-Note: If your battery voltage is too low, (Lower than 11.1V) it could not work.
The charge controller avoids overcharging and discharging and protects your battery.
If you have your own charge controller and would like to use yours, DIY works for the kit. Other mppt charge controller please search ACOPOWER MPPT.

I looked at several different options for portable solar panels to use with our popup trailer (12v deep cycle) and lithium ion solar generator before settling on this ACOPOWER 12V 70W Foldable Solar Panel Kit. This kit is built with high quality materials compared to others I looked at - some other panels I tried seemed fragile, the fabric "carrying case" flimsy, connecting cables were incredibly thin and I’d need to add MC4 connectors (may as well rewire), or the panel output dropped to almost nothing when only a tiny area was covered.
I contacted Acopower to ask questions before purchasing and promptly received a reply from one of their electrical engineers who confirmed they use 14 AWG wire in their folding solar panel kits - I could find no other similar kits in this price range that came close to this. Also, the Sunpower panels used are wired to continue producing power even when partially covered, and are extremely efficient - we really need this living in the Pacific Northwest with many cloudy or overcast days.
The included 10A solar controller works fine and it's nice to have a USB charge port, but will only work when also connected to a battery. Will probably get a small sealed battery to have on hand when we're not using the solar "generator" or trailer. This kit is perfect for our 500W Lithium Ion Solar Generator, but may be too powerful for the smaller 100W "generators". It’s also the perfect size to carry in our vehicle or tuck inside the trailer, and the metal grommets and built in legs are great for quick and easy setup.
At noon on a sunny April day this panel produced MORE than the stated 70W for us: with our solar “generator” for a draw and using a multimeter the panel consistently produced 4.3amps and 20.3volts (87W). I may try using a small MPPT controller to take advantage of the wasted extra voltage (over 12v converts to amps) or if we ever connect in series to another panel.
So far this 70W solar panel kit has performed beyond our expectations. It is priced higher than some of its competitors, but I would rather pay a little more and invest in something that is built to last. Thank you Acopower for an excellent product and excellent customer service!
FYI, I purchased this through Walmart Marketplace but the kit was sent directly from Acopower, very well packaged, and arrived in only 3 days (free shipping and no sales tax outside California).
Simple to charge the battery; a bit expensive compared to the other panels, but well made and in a very handy carry case. After using this panel kit, it is very capable to charge the Solar generator and does it quickly and easily.
